the other day i was talking to a friend (in person) and knowing that he is a musician i asked – hey you probably know someone i could learn guitar from? He replies well there are several lessons on youtube 🙂 I say yeah but I need to be in a group setting or else I dont get motivated. He goes okay send me a msg on facebook and I will recommend a friend.
i agree parents communicating with their kids is taking it to another level. The parents themselves are getting into a habit of looking up everything – one could argue certain lookups could give a better answer – crowdsourcing. Perhaps having a followup conversation after the kid has looked up is better? Hey what did you find? What do you think about it?
One of the requirements on a privacy class i took was to read papers and discuss them in class – it was engaging and fun – everyone had an incentive to engage (grade!). Its kinda pathetic thought to have to incentivize parents to engage with their kids! 🙂
